ESPN on Boehm

scout.com grade of 83

January, 2009: Boehm is strong for his age and very aggressive on both ends of the floor. He is an average athlete at best but is very productive. Boehm has good hands that allow him to catch tough passes. He also possesses excellent touch around the basket where he can score with either hand. He executes drop steps or quick turn shots in the lane. He does a great job of using his body and is not afraid of contact. Boehm is also a good ball handler in the scoring area. He will attack off the dribble from the high post and from the low wing where he likes to go to his left. Boehm also benefits from drop off passes created by guard penetration. He scores in transition by out running the opposing post players. Boehm simply beats them down the floor for lay ups. Rebounding is also strength. Boehm competes for rebounds out of his area on both ends of the floor and he does a great job of moving to avoid being boxed out. He plays with great energy and effort. Boehm must work to expand his shooting range and continue to add strength but his progress will be exciting to follow.
